I wash my fish aquarium with soap help!!?

I have heard that cleaning the tank with soap can be lethal to a fish?? wat should I do NOW =(I wash my fish aquarium with soap help!!?
put it in the tub and let it soak with baking soda (one handful for every 5 gallons) to remove any soap scum for a couple of hours. Then run water through it to rinse it well for half an hour.

AI wash my fish aquarium with soap help!!?
I do believe that using soap is a big big no no. Can you take your fish out of that tank and put them into another? Then rinse, rinse and rinse some more. Even a bucket would hold your fish until you get your aquarium rinsed out. That is what I would do. Good luck. I am not a fish expert. My qualification is I have an Oscar that I have managed to keep alive for over 4 years now. Good luck with your fish. Remember don't use soap, okay?
Rinse it with a solution of vinager to clear out the soap; and then with plain water very very thoroughly. Unless somebody has a better idea.
Oh no......................................鈥?br>

OK - get the fish out of there IMMEDIATELY! If you have another tank - put them in there. If you do not (and depending on their size) put them in a 5g bucket (you can get one at the hardward store). CLEAN the tank with pure Ammonia mixed with water (about 1/4 of your mixture because this will nitrify as you recycle).

Do you have anyone who has a tank that could house your fish for you until you get things under control again? Someone who you know has a disease free tank?

This is a sucky situation and takes some time to clear out so don't be in a rush. Write to me directly out here if you need more details (And believe me - there are many more details to understand here).
That was a definate opps,it should be fine rinsed out really good prob. rocks %26amp; all, if it bubble when you are refilling it you havent rinsed well enough.
Quickly transfer the fish out to another pail of water!!

Make sure the aquarium is soup-free then fill it up with water again and transfer ur fish back...

Good luck!!
There is something they sell at Wal-Mart in a spray bottle that is supposed to be totally safe for cleaning tanks. I'm sorry I don't know what it's called. I just remember the liquid is blue and it says one the label safe for fist tanks. I use that for my fish tanks, reptile tanks, and any other tank I use. It works really well and so far I haven't had any illnesses. I do not generally need any kind of cleaner to clean the inside of my fish tank other than just scrubbing really hard, though I have used it in fish tanks some.
i just hope u rinsed it very well.dont do it again.
If you havent already done so, you should get a PH level kit. You can pick them up at any Walmart or common pet store. If the level is out of whack, then you definately need to put your fish in a container, such as a pitcher, of filtered, treated, room-temp. water. Next, you should completely empty your tank. By using a common kitchen strainer ( like for noodles), Boil a big pot of water on your stove, and pour the water over the rocks in the strainer, while shaking the strainer. Do this until you are sure the water that is coming out the bottom is running totally clear.

Then, use about a half capfull of regular laundry bleach into the empty tank. Wash out the tank with tap water that is as warm as u can stand. When it looks good, stick your nose above the tank, and see if you can smell ANYTHING. If all rinse water is coming out clear, and there is no chemical or offensive odor, then it is clean.

As long as the fish are not constantly subjected to soaps or harsh chemicals, usually, they will cleanse themselves with their natural slimecoat. Hope this helps. :)

  • How many times do u wash ur face with soap?

well i use soap-free facial wash. soap soap is not good for your face, you should always get a soap-free wash. but yeah, i wash 2, or maybe 3 times a day.How many times do u wash ur face with soap?
considering i make my own facial soap with tomato juice and tea tree oil, among the other necessary oils and lye needed to make soap. I always use soap.

However if your talking about what people call soap and is purcahsed in stores, NEVER. that isn't soap it's detergents and chemicals.

edited to add, store bought soap is very hard on the skin and does dry your skin out. However handmade soap is actually good for your skin and you will be cleaner as well because it's a chemical reaction between lye and the oils to make soap. Unless the stuff bought in stores that is detergents and is hard on the skin. This change came about during the first world war I believe when oils were harder to come by and they needed a product that would lather in cold water. Thus ';soap'; was create as most people know it. But few people actually know that it's really not soap at all as what is determined by the FDA and is classified as soap. Because it contains so many detergents and depends on high amounts of the hardner stearic acid to make it hard. Well there is more to it than that, but that is the basics. How many times do u wash ur face with soap?
I would be careful as to what kind of soap I am putting on my face. I would used plain water. I use an astringent after washing. A good one is Witch Hazel or any mineral oil. Be careful with the soap. If you must check the ingredients.
never wash your face with soap, it really dries it out. You should consider a daily face wash. If you have really oily skin try Noxzema(Works Great) or if you have normal skin you should try Boire.
I wash my face twice a day. I wouldn't recommend more than that, because the product you use could dry out your skin. Always follow up with a non-comodogenic moisturizer.
normally 2 times, morning and night but when i think my skin is oily i wash it like 3 times, i dont use soap....................................鈥?people shouldnt use soap - its harsh for their face.
Once in the morning, once at night.

If I were quite a bit busy that day, I would in the afternoon, too.
in the morning when i get up

and at night before i go to bed.

    not including the shower.

    so kind of three.
Twice a day, once in the morning in the shower, and then once at night to remove my makeup.
i don't use soap, i wash twwice a day in morn ing and night with a proper face wash. Biore pore unclogging scrub.
3 times a day. But not soap, really, you know, face wash...
Never. Soap dries out your skin.
    Twice a day in winter

    Three or more in summer

Gonna take a shower: do you preferr soap or body wash?.sponge or hands?.long and relaxing or quickie?

jessica rabbit, you really know how to get my attention.

So, you're gonna take a shower. First, close the shades and frustrate old Joe next door. He needs to find something better to do with his time, anyway.

Now, as to your choices. Body wash is far and away the preference, using BL Body Wash. Body wash requires plenty of hand massage action to stimulate your soft and supple body.

No sponges, please. They absorb too much of you luscious body oils.

After a shower that is not too long or too hot, take care of the long and relaxing part with Chocolate Butter, Jojoba Oil or Creme de Corps body cream. Be sure to take special care of those smooth and elegant legs that the whole world notices first.

Now, since I'm not there to help, can I at least make a bid on those Cragers you own?

Oh, and don't forget to put the shade back up for old Joe. He'll wait for days for the next time you forget to lower them.

long and relaxing.Gonna take a shower: do you preferr soap or body wash?.sponge or hands?.long and relaxing or quickie?
It all depends on the situation. If you had a long day of work and you want to relieve stress, take a long shower with relaxing body wash and a sponge so you can feel better and soothing. But if your in a hurry, take a quick shower with soap and use your hands! Enjoy the shower still, I think showers should be enjoyed and very soothing.
That is something only my wife gets to know. :)
quickie/ hands/ soap...hhhhmmm...that sounds awfully kinky! god i wish rab was here!
I bet you are a 48 year old dude that likes to pretend he's a hot chick huh?

If a deaf person swears, does his mother wash his hands with soap?

hehehehe. toooo funny :). But to answer your question, no they don't. I once had a friend who she and her parents were both deaf, and when she cursed, her mom just slapped her upside her head like everyone else's mom probably did.If a deaf person swears, does his mother wash his hands with soap?
Yeah, or she can just slap the sh...t out of him everytime he does it.If a deaf person swears, does his mother wash his hands with soap?
    You should be a Commedian...lol....probably!
no cuz not all def ppl cant speak i hav3e one thats very fluent in speaking but shes def

Body Wash or Bar of Soap?

I recently, tried using Dial Body wash. I was getting fustrated with people not putting the soap back on the dish. (you know how it sucks to have a soft smooshy soap full of pubic hair)

Anyways.... What is is better for the skin? Liquad or Bar. I may go back to the bar in the future when the liquad is done.Body Wash or Bar of Soap?
I prefer body wash. Just seems cleaner instead of everyone sharing the same bar of soap.Body Wash or Bar of Soap?
honestly both are great, but i perfer liquid soap because then you can buy a loofa and enjoy a gentle, cleansing shower everyday. it really takes out the filth from your skin and that is good. i hope i helped a least a little!!! lol
I really like Liquid soap because when i use bar soap it drys my skin out. Right now I'm using Tone sugar scrub it smells really good i also like Caress.
i am guessing that the liquid is better because the bar has had other peoples hands and stuff all over it. also, liquis foams up more and that means that it is cleaning better.
I think the bar is.I do not break out with bar and when i was younger the demitologist told me dial bar soap the gold one was the best for acne.when i use liquid soap it makes me feel like i am not as clean and I sometimes break out.
body wash It is some much more cleansing
well i think liquid in your case scense you have problems with the bar
    I've used the Dial too!

And yeah, i get frustrated too! Pubic hair sucks.

I've switched to the liquid kind, because i hated the soap bar. It always slips out of my hand it lands on the floor of the tub.

I use Dove Refreshing Body Wash with Exfoliating Beads - cucumber melon.
Love body wash with more lather than most soap bars. but olay soap bars have a lovely lather
I say body wash... but if you want to ask the experts, I highly recommend this site for ANY skin care tips... it's absolutely awesome! Hope this helps :)

  • How do you stop from having soap residue on the dishes (hand washing)?

Add Two Tablespoons of White Vinegar to your Dishwashing Liquid, this will not only give you a cleaner, shinier wash but will also help your dishwashing liquid to last longer and also you use less and it will disinfect and kill germs on your sponges and dishes, when washing dishes just give one firm squirt of dishwashing liquid in your dish water thats it then wash your dishes as normal or you can just squirt some on your sponge and sponge on the dishwashing liquid onto your dishes and hand wash them that way instead of filling the sink with water, don't try to attempt to do a sink load of dishes this way you will use up too much dishwashing liquid this is useful if you only have few dishes to do, vinegar also removes residues, it is a all purpose cleaner/degreaser Good Luck !How do you stop from having soap residue on the dishes (hand washing)?
Your Welcome and thank you for choosing my answer as best Report Abuse
How do you stop from having soap residue on the dishes (hand washing)?
First of all, don't use too much dish soap in the dishwater. You are using proper dish soap, right? Some people on here use all kinds of strange things. Then rinse your dishes in the hottest water your hands can stand, just like you wash them in the hottest water possible. This helps sanitize them and they dry faster. If you want to put a drop of bleach in the dishwater or a couple drops of vinegar in the dishwater, that's fine. I wouldn't rinse with anything but pure water, though. I always rinse my dishes twice in the water, just to make sure. Good luck!
I rinse in a seprate sink that has a cool water and bleach solution in it... it cuts any soap sudzzzz!!!!
Rinse Rinse Rinse. If you use a separate bucket for rinse water, keep it clean.

What is the chemical process of washing with soap?

pls help me I got dizy on finding the chemical processWhat is the chemical process of washing with soap?
Soap molecules have a hydrocarbon (greasy) end and a polar (water-loving) head group. The greasy ends grab onto greasy bits in your laundry, and then the polar groups help the whole assembly get carried off by water.

What to wash a dog with when you dont have any dog soap?

Does it really need washed, usually a dailly brush is enough. If the dog is really dirty, I would mix a little human shampoo with warm water and sponge the dog down. That should be enough until you get proper dog shampoo. Human shampoos are too strong for dogs and strip the natural oils from their coats. What to wash a dog with when you dont have any dog soap?
Never use human shampoo, dish detergent or hand soap. All of them have far too many surfactants in them and will dry out your dog's skin. Dogs don't produce oil in the same way as humans, and the detergents in all of those WILL seriously dry out your dog's skin.

If you absolutely must wash your dog and don't have any dog shampoo, you can use a tiny bit of oatmeal. Yes, oatmeal. Make some oatmeal, cool it down and use it like shampoo. Rinse it well. REALLY WELL.

Otherwise, just a good brush will go a LONG way towards making a dog look, feel and smell better. What to wash a dog with when you dont have any dog soap?
Go buy some or wait. Human shampoo is harmful to the delicate balance of a dog's skin.

See below excerpt from the provided link:

Shampoo. Use a shampoo formulated for dogs, and one that is gentle and will not strip the natural oils of the dog?s coat. Do not use human shampoo, which is not the right pH for doggie fur and skin. Read the directions, and be aware that some shampoos and soaps are not appropriate for all ages or types of dogs. Oatmeal shampoos are good for dogs with itchy skin. Many people use dog shampoos containing chlorhexidine, which has anti-bacterial qualities. Avoid shampoos with insecticides, since the chemicals can be harsh. If your dog has fleas, use a gentle shampoo containing pyrethrin, pyrethrum or citrus oil.
NEVER EVER wash your dog with anything but dog shampoo. Dogs have different oils in their fur and if washed with people shampoo it takes to much of that oil away and can cause skin issues. Just goto the store and get some it is only a couple of bucks and way healthier for your dog. NEVER EVER USE DISH soap as said above! I can not believe some of these answers!
I don't have any dog soap, however I have shampoo. My dog gets absolutely fithy when I take her out. Nevertheless, I don't use soap or shampoo. I simply clean her with warm water and dry her with a towel.

Soap and shampoo dries out their coats, consequently I hardly ever bath her. She looks clean, smells clean and my house does not smell of dogs.
I usually wash my dog with Johnson's baby shampoo when we run out of dog soap. It is really gentle on the skin, and it is dermatologist tested. It is hypoallergenic and has no soap in it. I like it because if you got it in the dogs eye by accident it wouldn't hurt that much because it is the no tears kind.
well you could always just use water? or normal hand washing soap?

When i were a kid me mam used to dump some washing up liquid on me hair if we ran out..never did me no harm so you could try that?

Or if possible a baby shampoo such as jonsons. Thats always good to use.
Please don't use human shampoo it can be very irritating to a dogs skin. Plus if your dog decides to lick itself after it could consume the chemicals from the shampoo. Please go to the pet store and buy the appropriate shampoo.
Use ONLY a little bit of your shampoo and conditioner.

Buy Oatmeal shampoo and conditioner for dogs.

A milkbath at petco costs approx $40.00, this is the type of product they use for this application.
I wouls say either baby shampoo or Dawn. Dawn is very gentle and they use it sometimes on the ducks and birds that have oil on them. I know you have seen that commercial.
I wash my Great Dane with an oatmeal soap. It is really good for his skin. Personal choice. Stay away from soaps with perfume. Those can irritate dogs skin.
Use baby shampoo or regular or regular shampoo or if you have baby wipes they work great also
tear free shampoo or any baby shampoo. depending on the breed and length of the dog's coat, regular shampoos and shampoo/conditioner combos can make their skin very dry.
When I dont have pet shampoo I use a saloon bought shampoo on my dogs and they love it! So do I they smell good, and it doens't make them itch.
Don't use Axe body wash unless you want every b!tch in the neighborhood in your yard!
I use Johnsons baby shampoo because it doesn't hurt if it gets in their eyes!!
johnson johnson baby shampoo and if u want ur dog to have a shiny coat feed him an egg every month
Go to the store and buy some. :]
    baby shampoo.
well i'm basically a really nerdy person and my dog is more like a human than an animal i never use dog shampoo on him. i always use whatever shampoo or even body wash is in the shower at the time when i give him a bath. i think the only real difference between ';dog shampoo'; and ';human shampoo'; is most of the time the dog variety usually has some kind of flea and tick repellent. if your dog is like mine and doesn't stay outside than that wouldn't even really be an issue. if it is, get k9 advantix or whatever that junk is =]
i had this problem once i checked it out. you should just use regular shampoo or hand soap as long as you know it doesnt make your skin dry it is ok for your dog!
mix 50% water 50% dawn dish soap its good for fleas but dont use for a long period it will dry your dogs skin
I tired Herbal Essences one time, but my dog started humping my leg...
any normal shampoo, my friend uses head and shoulders on her pionter :D

  • For cleansing hands, is washing more important than the soap?

Is it true that the physical act of washing drives away more viruses and bacteria than are killed by the chemicals in the hand wash soap? In other words, is washing hands under running water more important than whether you are using a soap or how effective it is?For cleansing hands, is washing more important than the soap?
The mechanical action of rubbing combined with rinsing under running water are the most important part. The role of soap is to help release the dirt and suspend it in the water so that it can rinse away.

But the addition of the soap is an important component, especially with oily dirt. For cleansing hands, is washing more important than the soap?
No, water alone will not remove the bacteria from your hands. You need soap and a good 30 seconds of scrubbingg your hands to remove the bacteria. If you are concerned about chemicals in your soap look for organic soaps.
Wash with soap AND water for at least 2o seconds, scrub and you'll be just fine! :)
what ofcourse always use a good handcleaning soap

Does washing your face with soap and water actually help?

I wash my face every night with soap and water and I'm not really seeing results. So, does it actually work or am I just wasting my time? Thanks!!Does washing your face with soap and water actually help?
It depends on what kind of Soap you use..make sure to read the ingredients..It should contain no oil..you will find most soaps have oil in them..also try not to touch your face alot..we have natural oils on our hands and the more you touch your face the more oil you put right back on it..Does washing your face with soap and water actually help?
Are you talking about acne? If you are, acne starts below the skin and really has nothing to do with dirt on the skin. Soap doesn't penetrate the pores to clear them out. If you have acne, you need something like benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid to work below the surface of your skin.
try lemon juice i tried for atleast two nights and i saw results on the very first day.

how to put the lemon juice on:

    1.cut a fresh lemon open

2.rubber it all over your face

3.it will ich for a few minutes, but just ingore it and don't touch it for strech your face.

4.put it on in the night and in the morning wash it off.
    yes it helps

    /
Yes, it does help but you should use Clean%26amp;Clear, Proactiv, or some other facial medicine. Soap and water alone wont get many results, especially if you do it too often. If your scrubbing your face five times a day, it could actually get worse. Good luck.
I wash my face night and morning using Neutrogena Pore Refining Cleanser. It keeps my skin clean and make the pores look smaller!

I use to have okay skin...then tried Proactiv and it made it much, much worse. The ingredients in Proactiv actually are not any stronger than over the counter cleansers. Some store sold cleanser or ones from a dermatologist actually have more active ingredients in them.

Keep washing your face and trying different cleansers until you find the one that works for you.

And even after you find one, it may slow or quit working after a while....sometimes skin can get too use to a product and its effects are lessened.

    Good Luck
try using clearasil or some kind of face wash. you'll get better results.
I'm repeating a bit of what others have said

Everytime you sweat majorly, at least rinse your face

don't use regular soap, use one specifically for your face

salicylic acid works great as ';soap'; even though, for some reason, they refuse to call it soap

toner (some say to clear debris, others say to restore pH of skin

    Afterwards, apply benzoyl peroxide (2.5%)

    sunblock

    at least twice a day

keep hair out of your face

make sure you have clean pillow sheets

dunno if you're a girl or not, but if you use make-up, make sure it's non-cosmogenic (sp?) ie ask the counter ppl if it's good for acne

What did people use for washing before soap was invented?

When we were in Sri Lanka last year on a river trip we saw locals washing in the river. The guide told us that they usually rubbed themselves with sand if they did not have any soap. What did people use for washing before soap was invented?
    water. sand.

The first soap was invented when people realized that washing their clothes down stream from battlefields(mass graves) worked better.

How they put two and two together i dont know.. but thats the storyWhat did people use for washing before soap was invented?
    Water
sometimes they'd mask it with flowers

Is washing your face with soap and water just as good as proactive?

i need to know if proactive is wasting money. Is washing your face with soap and water just as good as proactive?
You don't need to use Proactiv, but I wouldn't use soap either. You should use a facial cleanser made for your skin type. Good luck. 2DIs washing your face with soap and water just as good as proactive?
washing your face with soap does the same thing only it drys out your skin and makes it itch
Proactive is way overrated. It is the equivalent of most cheap drug store products but it sells for more money. I went to a Dermatologist for years and I was told to never, ever use any soap on my face because it dries your skin. Instead, I was told to use something like Neutrogena Skin Care Products, Cetaphil Lotion, Purpose Cleanser or Almay's skin care products because they are made for sensitive skin and they are all hypoallergenic so they do not cause dryness but help prevent dryness, plus they control oiliness or breakouts. I still use a lot of the Neutrogena line because it is really good for a pharmacy or ';big-box'; Wal-Mart stores. I've heard so many people say that Proactive is a waste of money but I haven't personally used it. If you have lots of acne or excessively dry skin problems, then I would suggest going to see a good Dermatologist. They can write prescriptions to help keep you from breaking out and they can also tell you the best products to use for your skin type. I was under a Dermatologist care from the time I was 11 until I turned 18, and sometimes I still have to go see one if I get a itchy rash like eczema to get a prescription cortisone or mild steroid cream. Even though many people have problematic skin, you can still use a good non-oily moisturizer, a mild toner and hypo-allergenic make-up on your face, if you wear it. However, if your skin tends to be on the dry side, all the products I have mentioned above have specific products tailored for all types of skin. I now use some of the Eucerin Redness Reducing products because I tend to have a redness tone to my skin, and the Eucerin brand has more soothing moisturizers in it without causing breakouts. I don't know if you know this, but there are only about six major skin care and make-up companies and many of them that make the pharmacy or store brands also make the ones you find in most of the high dollar department stores. If you can find a beauty consultant that has some training, she can tell you which company that make the expensive skin care products also make the pharmacy or discount store brands. I also like a brand that is called Physicians Formula because it is very gentle, hypoallergenic, and it is formulated for problematic skin by Dermatologists. You can really go-to-town with their skin care and makeup products to give you flawless looking skin. Whatever you do, don't let anyone convince you that Dove Soap is not drying even though it contains some cold cream in it. Like every other soap I've tried, Dove also dries my skin. So does Clearasil because it is made for oily skin. For my body, I really like to use Softsoap Nutraoil because it makes my body soft when I take a shower. Then, I liberally apply Neutrogena Body Oil (sesame oil doesn't dry like baby oil which contains mineral oil) all over my body. It absorbs fairly quickly, you just gently pat your skin dry and it gives you wonderfully soft skin. Well, I hope some of these suggestions I have given you are beneficial to you. I know that they have helped my skin tremendously without having to spend a ton of money. All of these products are highly recommended by Dermatologists, too, because they make gentle products for every specific skin type.
No it isnt good to do that. When you use soap and water you just move the dead skin around. So to save money use like clearasil or something from your grocery store, etc.
The skin on your face is more sensitive than the skin on the rest of your body, so washing your face with just soap and water is not good. You may get itchy, dry, or even break out. Proactive is really good, but if you don't want to spend that much money, use Clearasil facial exfoliating scrub. The one with the little orange or green beads. It smells good and works good, too.
proactive was the biggest waste of money. it only made me break out so much worse than it was before!
except for taking a shower, soap is bad for washing your face with because soap naturally dries out, and your face could do the same (kind of; not dry as the desert way). but don't use proactive (for acne), use nuetrogena.

  • Your preference: body wash or bar soap?

just wondering what you prefer: body wash/ soft soap or good old fashion bar o' soap??

personally I like the squeeky clean feeling of bar soap.

the body wash always leave my skin filling to slick and moist.. maybe its just me ! how about you?Your preference: body wash or bar soap?
Body wash!!! On one of those exfoliating loofahs ^____^ It smells so nice and I love my loofah. Bar soap just always seemed unsanitary to me, my roommate's boyfriend would probably use it and then I'd use it and yuck. But that's just me!Your preference: body wash or bar soap?
I like bar soap. I feel much much clean after using it. I have shower gel too but only use when I ran out of soap. It leaves the skin with moist feeling. But I like to feel completely comfortable after a shower and nothing does it like a bar soap.

What I believe is when you use a bar soap, it removes all moist from your skin and make skin more breathable and that's why it feels much refreshed.

What I do is wait for a while and enjoy total oil free naked skin and then apply some moisturizer.
I prefer Body Wash. Soap can be very drying (BTW you really should not be Squeeky clean---it means you are drying out your skin). . .If you want to cut down on the slick feeling (though moist is a good thing), use clear body washes (Avoid Dove and Oil of Olay like the PLAGUE).

I use antibacterial body washes at least three times a week (they get that good clean feeling and my skin doesn't feel dry.) My favorite is Dial Clean and Fresh. . .Neutrogena is also really good. The rest of the week I use a fun (yet clear) body wash like the ones from Bath and Body Works.
I prefer the squeaky clean feeling too but on me that means I just washed away any oils on my skin and will be dry as a bone as soon as I finish towel drying so I use body wash, Oil of Olay ribbons, to be exact. At least then I have skin left at the end of my shower. Otherwise I am an itchy rashy mess.
I use both, using only one doesn't feel like I'm doing enough. Soap bad makes me feel squeeeky clean and then I use the body wash because it smells good and all...girly and pretty lol (at least mine).

If I could only use one id just use regular soap and use some body lotion when I'm out of the shower. Thank god for body lotion (x
I like body wash better because I hate the idea of bar soap being used by everyone else and being rubbed ALL over their body and mine.

I like body wash better also because its very slick like you said and makes me feel smooth and cleaner.

    I guess it's just everyone's own preference.

    Hope this help :)
i like body wash better. soap makes my skin feel dry and to me leave it feeling ';gunky'; (only word i could think to describe it as) so i use body wash. and i love how body wash comes in alot of different scents.
Either one as long as I use the loaf so I can exfoliate. Cause if you think of it, if you just take the soap bar and wash your body with it you are bascially rubbing germs on it while your at it.
i like body wash, i like the suds they make and i think it's gross when you get random hairs on bar soaps, especially if you have to share with a male!
    Body soap then body wash.

    I use both.

Because body wash isn't enough to make you clean but it smells really good.
bodywash!! i like it bc it lathers a lot easier, and when i use it on a pouf it exfoliates.
Bar soap carry's to many germs.

I need to know can you wash a newborn baby with''Jhonson baby soap''?

my boyfriend's mother told him that he can't wash a newborn up with ''Jhonson baby soap'' because it's too strong, you have to use wet wipes, and he can't wash there belly button. I said we can because the soap is for babies, and we can wash them up but you just can't wash there belly button until it falls off and then we can give them a bath.I need to know can you wash a newborn baby with''Jhonson baby soap''?
Heck yes you can...didn't they tell you that at the hospital? I wouldn't use wipes...it could give the baby a rash if they are scented. Ya, don't wash the babies belly button....just wipe around it with a clean warm wash cloth. First rule don't ever listen to ur boyfriends mom! Ask ur Doctor....I need to know can you wash a newborn baby with''Jhonson baby soap''?
    yes u can
Use Aveeno for babies, it does not contain soap to dry out the skin and it has oatmeal to soften the skin. It is also very mildly fragrant.

The doctor recommended it to me when my son was born, he was premature.

The Aveeno lotion for babies is also excellent.
as long as the baby's umbilicol cord is gone it's okay to wash they baby in water.....the doctor told that to my brother and his wife.........but if the umbilicol cord is still on, it's only good to dap the baby with a wet cloth!
I was always told never to use baby wipes (and on the few occasions I did it was major rashes), use a bit of soap but for a newborn just use warm water (like what you do when your changing their nappy). Best not to irritate the belly button at all, just give a quick dab with clean cotton wool and leave it alone or it could go nasty. Enjoy Mummyhood.
Newborns should only be washed in water. It's all a marketing ploy. Babies have perfected adapted skin and are quite oily to begin with. It ios us with all or products that dry them out.

Wait a while before clogging them up. But Johns is the best after that!
Yes you can wash a newborn with Johnson's baby soap. There just isn't much point in it. Newborns don't really get dirty. And DO NOT submerge the baby in water that covers the belly button until the cord has completely fallen off and healed. If you must wash your baby, wet a washcloth with warm water and put the soap on it and then just wipe the baby clean with it. Then wipe her again with a wet cloth that has no soap on it. Newborns really don't need baths any more that about every 10 days if you keep their private areas clean.
Dial soap is the best. However Johnson baby soap is good also.
    Yes
Never take the advice of crackheads, boys and girls. Also, lets explore what ';baby soap'; is. It's soap...FOR BABIES. That would include newborns of parents who desire a fresh smelling child, and not one who reeks of baby sweat and curdled milk. Irish Spring, now I would wager that is too strong a strong soap for babies.
I think 1 week and under you should use the jhonson wipes. i believe the can work just as well. After that johnson is the best to use!!It is so delicate to the eyes I use it to wash my hands before I put in my contacts.
give a hand bath get a bowl of water soak the baby with a washcloth then just soap with another washcloth then rinse the baby off with a washcloth
Johnson Baby soap is for babies...you can ues it on your newborn...just keep the belly button dry. Don't let people upset you...you can give your newborn a bath, just try and keep its belly button dry.
my pediatrican told me to use the nuetragena(spelling?) soap bar on my daughter when she was first born because of all th e perfumes and dyes in the baby soaps and it works well! you can clean around the umbilical stump with alcohol on a qtip
Yes, you can, as long as the baby's umbilical cord stump has dried up and fallen off, and the baby's belly button has healed completely. If it's still attached, you can still bathe the baby with Johnson's baby soap, but you have to give the baby a sponge bath and not submerge him in the tub. Just make sure you rinse the baby thoroughly. You know how itchy skin can get if it's not rinsed thoroughly. :) My sons' pediatrician recommended I wash them head to toe with Dove unscented bar soap, and I do. They both have beautiful skin. :) One thing...you have to be especially careful around their eyes. Unlike most products made especially for babies, Dove is NOT and isn't tear free.
Grandparents like to have opinions about everything, don't they?

Johnson's baby soap is fine, it's gentle enough for babies and tear free. When you give your baby a bath, just put the baby in a baby bath tub and put enough warm water in until it is just below the belly button. Use a wash cloth and Johnson's baby soap and you'll be fine. After the belly button falls off, you can put more water in the tub, and no washing or alcohol is required for the belly button area.

    Congratulations on your new baby!
Yes you can I washed mine with it when he was a baby including his little hair. he's now 13 and going strong. I hope this helped.

Which parts of your genitals are you suppose to wash with soap if you're a girl?

I'm sort of confused here, which parts are you suppose to wash with soap? I know not the vagina, but how about the outside of the vagina? And you know how you have the pubic hair that begin at your lower abdominals, then goes down to your clitoris and stuff? And how you have the walls of a clitoris, and the clitoris is like an oval shape sort of? I am so confused!! Which parts are you suppose to wash? I don't even know the names of which body part! Please help! Like sometimes there's one part of my body that is inbetween my vagina, and the beginning of my pubic hair, and it's wear most of the pubic hair begins. Around there. I think it's the clitoris or something? And I put soap around there, then I use my finger to clean it better on the walls of it? O.oWhich parts of your genitals are you suppose to wash with soap if you're a girl?
OK...you know how the inside bits of your lips/labia are kind of a different sort of skin that is damp and probably pinker...well those bits are the bits that should not come into contact with soap...just wash your pubic triangle with soap or shower gel and maybe the little bits on the outside next to your thighs...try not to get soap on any of the bits that are inside your labia.

Here is a diagram...just the outside of the outer lips or labia majora will be ok to use soap or gel on...the inside bits like the inner lips etc...just use water. Soap will upset the PH balance of your vagina and can cause a yeast infection. All the little bits and crevices where the clitoris is etc can be rinsed with clear water, that is all that you need to do.

http://www.somazone.com.au/sexual-health鈥?/a>Which parts of your genitals are you suppose to wash with soap if you're a girl?
You are not suppose to wash the inside of the vagina (even with douching... Never do that) It changes the pH balance and make you more susceptible to yeast infections.

The clit is located at the top of the outer lips. Where they meet and the top need the end of the pubic hair of the lower stomach. Its pretty small and there is skin located around it. Its very sensitive to the touch.

I just up soap on my loofah and clean around and let the water do the rest.
I wouldn't stick any soap Up your vagina. Just the outside. Where ever there is public hair.

I would use the water to try and get up in there, if you have a movable shower head, even better.
    outside the vagina

  • Does dish soap get hair dye out of hair? do u wash it with it or somthing?

No, No, No ....I wouldn't recommend dish soap. It is so not good for your hair. I really am not sure about your question ...but I did find some tips on how to remove hair dye if it is too dark or whatever ...if you read through here some of the info might be helpful

How to Remove Hair Dye That Is Too Dark

    Step 1:

If you decided to try on a darker shade of hair color only to have it turn into a nightmare, rest assured that steps can be taken to correct this blunder. The key is to act as quickly as possible for best results. It is much easier to remove dye from your hair if the color is just a few days old.

    Step 2:

Try L鈥橭real鈥檚 Color Zap for a quick at-home reversal of your color blunder. This easy-to-use kit works after one application, gently removing dye from your hair while leaving your natural hair color intact and ready to re-color. This product works even on permanent hair dye.

    Step 3:

If your new hair dye is only marginally darker than desired, you may want to try prematurely fading it. If the color you used was a semi-permanent color, rest assured that these colors fade quickly on their own and the process can be sped up by simply washing your hair more often.

    Step 4:

If your too-dark hair dye is permanent, it can sometimes be faded by washing with a clarifying shampoo. Use one that is designed to remove product build-up or chlorine build-up from swimmer鈥檚 hair. These shampoos remove anything coating the hair shaft, including excess pigment.

    Step 5:

Clarifying shampoos not doing it for you? Try using Head and Shoulders dandruff shampoo. This shampoo has long been known for its ability to strip color from hair. If you really need to fade your too-dark hair quickly, try shampooing with Head and Shoulders until your hair fades to the desired shade.

Can you use vinegar in a washing machine to eliminate soap sludge?

if so how much do you use? how often would you use this ? would you do a hot wash? and would you put the vinegar in where the fabric softener usually goes? Can you use vinegar in a washing machine to eliminate soap sludge?
wouldn't recommendCan you use vinegar in a washing machine to eliminate soap sludge?
Well, IF the soap sludge is due to you having hard water or water with lots of mineral content, yeah, the white vinegar will help. Hot wash and put the vinegar right in with the wash water.

After doing the vinegar wash, check the machine and see if the ';sludge'; is improved. If not, try using a one load dose of dishwasher detergent (powder is best) and hot water. My appliance guy recommends that you run one load a month with the stuff especially if you have a front loader to help keep the screens clean and other gunk at bay.

And if your machine has a load sensor that tells it how many clothes are in it so it knows how much water to use, you're going to have to put some things in with either treatment. The vinegar wash wouldn't hurt anything and does help keep darks from fading. But the dishwasher detergent will have bleaching tendencies and I'd put stuff in there that some bleaching won't hurt. When I run my load about once a month, I do my husbands shop rags, dog bedding or doggie bath towels.
I just use Simple Green to clean it out. Also, I put baking soda in with my wash (Arm and Hammer). It's cheap I get a five pound bag at COSTCO for like $4.48 or something like that.

Simple Green works wonders on many things and it is bio (but it is not a germ killer it is a cleaner). You can use it on the lawnmower, the tires and rims. The railings that you touch and get black from your hands. The weed whacker. Tools.

I don't know if this will solve your problem but it can't hurt.
I prefer soda crystals - don't smell so much
Soda and fresh lemon juice. Run an empty wash.
Yes you can use vinegar. Vinegar helps (HELPS) break down soap scum. I usually put it in where the detergent goes, and also put some in a Downy ball to be sure there is still some in the rise cycle.

    Hot water is best.
What kind of Machine do you have? Is it a front loading machine? Also if so there is something called Fresh in stores for that reason. Also vinegar could be used, but I don't. I use just hot water in a double rinse cycle, and or a cup of bleach works in my machine, but then I have a front loading one also. Also if you are using powdered soap, stop, it causes build up...at least it did for me and caused this issue. But, look in stores for Fresh and there is something else to but cannot think of the name of it you can use. Good luck, and you might want to think of cutting back on using some detergent also.
No, it will corrode your machine.

Also it won't remove soap sludge. It would only remove limescale
Yes you can. I put it in with dark washes as it helps stop colour fading. It also reduces 'bobbling'. I fill a dosing ball with white distilled vinegar and just pop it in the machine, and no you can't smell it when the cycle has finished.
Ordinary washing soda, bag cost about 50 pence @asda. Put whole bag in tub, close door, very hot wash, all gunge gone, drains etc clear.

Which of these soaps should I wash my carpet with?

    windex

    dish washing soap

    pine cleaner

    shampoo

thats all I have oh and body washWhich of these soaps should I wash my carpet with?
I would not use any of these, soaps leave residue and then attract more dirt, you will have spots where you cleaned. You should first try only warm water and if that doesn't work, go get a bottle of commercial carpet cleaner.Which of these soaps should I wash my carpet with?
If you mean in a spot to clean a spot 5 parts water 1 part dish soap. If your going to clean a whole room or more ';Soap'; is a bad Idea. The soap will dry sticky and well be dirtier in just a matter of days.

Use a comercial carpet cleaning solution . It does not contain soap. It contains checials that break up the dirt so you can take it up and dry with no soap residue.

I clean carpets for a living for 12 years..
None of the above, but if you absolutely had to use one of the products, use the shampoo. Carpet is a big investment. Making the wrong choice can cost you thousands.
    carpet cleaner only...
If you are cleaning the whole carpet I wouldn't use any of the above.. It may attract more dirt and stain worse.. If you are only trying to clean a small section or stain... I've used diluted laundry soap about less than a 1/3 cup AND about 1/3.c of baking soda disolved in HOT water.... And I go over it a few times with clean water to extract ALL soap...

On small areas I've used my wet/dry vac... with good results.. It beats having a set in stain... I've also used on a small stain a nail brush and cheap shaving cream... Just use warm water and blot with a light towel...

    Good luck

I want to change Tide, I have never tried other detergent. Can you suggest other trusted brand that is cheaper than Tide? What detergent soap do you use for washing machine?
Tide is my favorite I have used it for years, I did try other brands and nothing compares to Tide, the other brands are cheaper but you use more to get more suds, so you do get what you pay for. What detergent soap do you use for washing machine?
Arm %26amp; Hammer works very well for my family. They have many different brands, dye free, with fabric softener, with oxiclean etc. They have alot of buy 1 get 1 sales also with coupons, it's even cheaper.
i am a fan of all free and clean because i have to use a no dye/perfume detergent because of my son's allergies or else i would use Gain. i LOVE the smell.
I'm in canada so the prices differentiate but generally priced the same as the US. Cheer, sunlight, ALL ( US brand), Kirkland ( cost co brand) are just as good as tide.
Seventh Generation, cause it's good for the environment!
Gain smells really good and gets out stains, but I definetly prefer tide.

Washing clothes with dish soap with bleach alternative?

I know i can wash laundry with dish soap, but

my soap is with bleach alternative. can i still use it

to wash my clothes?Washing clothes with dish soap with bleach alternative?
If you use just a little it should be fine. The bleach alternative won't damage your clothes-it will not whiten or permanently discolor fabrics. It's just an enzyme that helps remove unseen food residue on dishes. Just add 1/4 cup white vinegar to the rinse cycle to make sure the soap is properly rinsed and doesn't leave a residue. The vinegar will help to break down the soap. Also, it will work as a fabric softener. The vinegar smell dissipates as it dries.

Another alternative is to wash the clothes with baking soda. Then vinegar in the rinse cycle.Washing clothes with dish soap with bleach alternative?
You are going to have suds coming out using dish soap in the washer.

The soap is designed for Dishes, not clothes. The washer cycles will not adequately rinse the soap out either.
yes it wont make a difference
The bleach may cause problems if it is poured directly onto the clothes. Just fill the washer with water first, mix in the soap, then add the clothes and you should be fine.

What's better? Body wash or bar soap?

i would way say a bar of soap body wash just smells really good. and if we're talking about brands i would say buy dove, it is the best and they have for sensitive skin and normal skin, and it doesn't leave your skin dry. the dove body wash is pretty good too but only that one. What's better? Body wash or bar soap?
a bar of soap is better for actually cleaning your body. body wash is just there for the smell.

How to make dish washing soap?

No, you don't want to do this dear! It would involve handling a number of chemicals you do not have experience with. This would require you to have a chemical handlers license. I am talking about modern dishwashing soaps, not the old fashioned ivory soap made out of pig fat and lye. The chemicals used are saponifiers, tweens, colloids to make it thick...see, unless you are a chemist, you really can't create this. How to make dish washing soap?
Hello there! I would kindly make a suggestion to look into purchasing natural products as opposed to making it yourself. Chemicals are added into such products and if you are to try to make it yourself, perhaps it will not make the dishes (or other items) clean as they ought to be.

    Hope this helps :-\

  • Now wash your hands? But no soap/hot water?

When, whether to combat swine flu or just generally, you wash your hands, what actually kills the germs? The soap, the water being hot or the water? Because when using public toilets, often one or more of these elements isn't available. So which element is least vital to the task? Now wash your hands? But no soap/hot water?
well it is the soap that actually kills the bacteria, especially if it is an antibacterial soap it will contain chemicals. generally you wont use water that is so hot that it will kill bacteria. however the mixture of the soap and the rubbing of your hands as you wash them causes the bacteria to be rubbed off you hands and then washed away with the water.

i have heard that you shouldnt use hand dryers as they encourage mulitiplication of bacteria as the temperature is favourable for bacteria to multiply. so any bacteria that wasnt cleaned off your hands while washing will multiply when you dry your hands.

if this is a problem just carry around a small bottle of alcohol hand wash. they are tiny so you canb often fit them in your bag and you dont need any water to use them. Now wash your hands? But no soap/hot water?
The soap. If it was the water than why would we use soap? Soapy soapy soaky soapful water without the soapy soapy soaky soap would be very very unclean unsoaped hands with bacteria! So use the soapy soapy soaky soapful bar of soap and your soap washed hand will be bacteria free.!

Washing clothes and out of soap?

is there any other soaps you can use in a washing machine to wash clothes that wont mess up the machine?Washing clothes and out of soap?
Washing up liquid.Washing clothes and out of soap?
dishwasher soap-it doesn't foam up as much as dish soap
You might look through the other household cleaners that you have in your home. There is an all purpose cleaner that I have used before that is called ';Simple Green';. It can be used in many ways and laundry cleaning is one of them. I'm unsure as to any others but it wouldn't hurt to read the additional uses on other cleaners that you use for the home.
Unless your clothes are actually soiled, just running the machine without soap should get them clean enough. It's the motion of the water that cleans more than the detergent. I've gone months without putting soap on some items, and they never stank.
dish soap... worked for me when i ran out of detergent. just don't over do it or else you'll have way too much bubbles to deal with. i did a full load at 3/4 cup of dish soap. works pretty well. just make sure there's no harsh chemicals that can destroy your outfit.
    Dish washer detergent
Well you can try with a small amount of hair shampoo, but I say small amount.
use shampoo or soap 4 the dishes
In a pinch you can use dishsoap. IN small amounts.

Why do my hands get crackly dry after I wash them with soap? I use lots of lotion daily it doesn't help.?

You're probably very dehydrated. Drink plenty of water. And put on a heavy hand cream, not a lotion with more water than anything else. Clinique body butter is actually really good, or melaleuca renew lotion. But my all time favorite is actually put out by Bath and Body Works, it's a honey hand cream from their couvent des minimes line. It smells like honey because that's one of the main ingredients. Put the cream on while your hands are still damp, and it will trap the moisture and force it into your skin. Also, if you want to really attack the problem, take some sort of omega-3 fatty acids. One really good form is flax seed oil, you can buy the caplets at any health food store. What the fatty acids do is force your cells to take in more moisture, so you're combating the internal dehydration as well as the external visible signs of it.

If it doesn't get any better, go to a dermatologist. They have some serious topical treatments that kick dry skin in the butt.

One more thing, there's also a skin cleanser made especially for chapped hands, you can find it at Bath and Body works too. (Love that place!) It's called CO Bigelow Chapped Hands Cleanser. It smells really yummy and it actually makes your hands feel softer after you use it.Why do my hands get crackly dry after I wash them with soap? I use lots of lotion daily it doesn't help.?
Yeah coz soap dries the skin especially the hands wcoz you have to keep washing them. Best option is to buy your own hand wash if you don't have one and use it in iffice coz you sound as if your skin is originally dry so never never use any product that has soap or NaOH in it.Why do my hands get crackly dry after I wash them with soap? I use lots of lotion daily it doesn't help.?
I've always had problems with dry hands; i think that the best thing is to put on your hands every night a hand cream like vaseline.

I prefer ';Camphor Ice';, i think it helps me more then anything. It costs about the same as vaseline, and you can find it in any pharmacy.
You may have sensitive skin, or perhaps you don't tolerate cold, dry winter weather very well (like me), or you may be washing them too much. If you're being too rough on your hands, the amount of moisture you put back on them won't help a whole lot. Try taking more Vitamin E, and start using a stronger, more expensive type of lotion. I suggest Gold Bond Medicated, Dura Cream or Corn Huskers Lotion. Commercial fisherman %26amp; surgeons swear by Corn Huskers Lotion. (Sorry, that's not meant to be an advertisement; it's just what I've found to be true. I'm not a lotion representative!) =)
If you use antibacterial soap, stop. It is extremely drying for the skin. Choose a gentle soap, and try moisurizing after each time you wash your hands (when practical). I tried a lot of different good lotions and have had the best luck with Palmer's Lotion with Cocoa Butter. Good luck.
Try using a soap that is not as strong, without as much antibacterial stuff in it. I recommend using aquaphor, it is like vaseline. You might have psoriasis, which is an overgrowth of skin.
    use cocoa butter lotion.

and washing your hands a lot isn;t good for you.

maybe its the soap ur using that ur hands or skin aren't really cooroperatting well?
Try a different lotion until one works for you. Body butter's work very well.

When I was like 7, i called my little sister a *****. My mother didn't really wash it out, more like put a little tiny bit on my tongue. But it worked because I never did swear in fornt of my sister again. That stuff is nasty.
Me--overly strict ( rigid and shaming) Catholic background. When I was about 8, I repeated the F word not knowing what it meant. Also later, after admitting that a boy had simply kissed me. Those were the days!
Nope never had, nor have my children or my Granddaughter.

My mother thought soap was for washing your body-not eating it, and passed that theory on to me.
Not for bad language, but my mother used to make us bite a cake of soap if we bit another person. I remember trying to pick the soap out of my teeth for biting my sister.
Ha ha. I grew up in an Irish neighborhood and that was the custom in Irish families. My family wasn't Irish and my father went to the seat of the problem.
No, my Father taught me that coarse language has it's place, and that it upsets people unnecessarily. I usually took notice of what my parents told me.

You mean literally washed with soap? Never. I was spanked (with a hand, not a paddle or belt) when I was young (trust me. I deserved it).
    Hello, this is Christine

I never had my mouth washed out, but I know my older brother sure has, and so has my husband! It's nasty and hard to get the taste out!
just once...i was like 7 and i ';talked back'; to my mom...really stupid way to discipline...there are more appropriate effective ways lol
Not me, thankfully. Sounds like an altogether unpleasant and unusual punishment.
my brothers ... when they come home drunk with friends...my mom would take our outside broom and scrub their mouths with it...funny..
Yep. I've always had bad language and calling your grandma a ';drunken ******* shithead'; usually gets one in trouble.
Once, by a dinnner lady at Cof E school, I don't think I even sweared, but I might have, she just didn't like me.
I didnt get soap in my mouth... I got hot sauce put in my mouth for calling my dad a bad word in spanish lol...
I once figured out I could use soap as I ran out of toothpaste, my mouth sore for a day, I really regretted it!

It was not religious, it was very stupid!
Well... when I was smaller I called my dad an *** and he washed my mouth out with soap. He got pretty pissed off... and I didn't even know what it meant lol
No but sometimes on accident I get face wash in my mouth when I'm in the shower. :0
I have, when I was in Kindergarten, some 35+ years ago.....
    Nope. Never happened to me.
Never. I was a good little boy and my parents aren't psychopathic sadists
Not me! No one in my family is very religious!
i was threatened many times but it never really happened!
I did, my parents had a special bottle just for it :(
Not I. My mother isn't a crazy person.
No lol I thought that was just a figure of speech.
when I was a child, and I got caught cussing.......irish spring has a rather piquant flavour......
I have once, thats just because my dad had the same thing done to him haha, it taught me a lesson thats for sure
i have it was not fun.

Can i use dishwashing liquid in a front load washing machine to clean out soap residue on the inner drum?

it may work but use it VERY SPARINGLY. DON'T USE MUCH!!!!!

I sometimes use dawn in the dishwasher (different appliance but same principle) and I can only use less than a dime size drop because otherwise it will overflow the kitchen with suds. Can i use dishwashing liquid in a front load washing machine to clean out soap residue on the inner drum?
Absolutely not. Dish washing liquid will just keep making bubbles and foam until the machine is full of it and it may even leak out all over the floor. It's not made to be a low foam detergent like laundry detergent is, which is why the bubbles don't overflow when you use laundry detergent. Front loading laundry detergent is even lower in foaming agents than regular detergent. You'll have a heck of a mess to clean up.

Also, soap does not clean up soap residue. If running a hot water wash cycle (with no clothes) doesn't remove the soap, you have have to take a scrub brush and scrub it off.Can i use dishwashing liquid in a front load washing machine to clean out soap residue on the inner drum?
    I wouldn't. Try vinegar.

What kind of soap should be used for car washing?

Specific car washing soap can get really expensive, so are there any other alternatives? Hand washing soap? Dish washing soap? What kind of soap should be used for car washing?
dont use either, they will scratch the paint. get a quality soap for cars, wash often and wax often. if you keep a good wax job on the vehicle it will clean easier so you will use less soap. i also used a spray on detailer (mcguires) inbetween washes, i would rinse it off and use the detailer to finish cleaning. it helpsWhat kind of soap should be used for car washing?
    any kind really
Dishwashing soap, but you can get car soap fairly cheap for a gallon jug.
    Be careful!

I understand your concerns with the $ issue, but

hand soap and non-car wash types can dry out your paint,

    and damage the finish.
    hair shampoo will do.
do not use hand soap or dish washing soap. only use one that's for vehicles, I use rain x with wax beads

Will washing my car with dish soap hurt it?

If i wash my car with dish soap will it hurt anything? Will washing my car with dish soap hurt it?
no, the car wash liquid you buy at the auto stores is a concentrate and you end up using more then you need to do the same thing you can do with dish washing detergents i have used it for years with out any problems.but to be sure the folks that make the auto washing detergents will tell you a totally different story. well they need to sell the stuff,Will washing my car with dish soap hurt it?
no, i do it all the time, but if it aint rinsed good it tends to leave a soapy residue.
nope been doing it for years....dont use brillo though...
Don't do it ,you will be sorry you did. I washed mine with a little Dawn Dish Soap, and it stripped the wax,and left terrible streaks. I won't do it again.Byeee
use very little and it should be ok
    Nope.

    Use it all the time.
no i do it all the time. or i go to my fiances fire house and use the wash they use for the trucks and engines. soap is soap

    it's all really the same
yes it will. it will corrode the exterior coat of paint.

you should use a ';secret'; mixture - from a good friend.

    here it is:

    1 part toothpaste - specifically colgate ';total';

1 part listerine ( or any mouthwash)

1 part olive oil - sound strange but it clings/bonds to the toothpaste and listeine

2 parts Lighter fluid ( or vodka) - provides the bright white glow

    ;)

    well there it is

this is a ';paste / syrup'; excellent for splashing on your car - better than a showroom shine!!!!!!!!
dish washing soap is made to strip grease and wax-yes it will take the wax off of car leads to paint peeling
Yes, it will leave a film. Use a car soap such as Turtle Wax.
    nope..

only thing that could hurt it is something really powerful that would eat the paint.. dish soap is ok
dont think so, I've done it quite a bit. But put it in a mop bucket with water (so it's really sudsy) and then wash a section and rinse it off before it dries.
