Why is the washing machine soap blue?

Well I was just putting the soap into the washing machine, and then a accidentally dropped the cap on my favorite white tank. So I was just wondering, why do you think they made the soap blue instead of white? White soap won't stain your favorite white tank top.

Hahahahahahahaha I'm Funny.

Stay Beautiful! Why is the washing machine soap blue?
The blue is a combination of blueing dye, which is used to keep whites looking whiter (as whites tend to yellow with age, the blue counteracts the yellow.

Also, there are UV brighteners in there too, which make liquids appear blue.

Why is the washing machine soap blue?
They made it blue largely so when you are pouring it into the machine or detergent reservoir you can see exactly where it went and how much you poured. Tide used to be clear but blue won out.
yeah what the second answereer said, lol. and i got some that are clear.
